Juka’s last live just so happened to be my first Moi dix Mois live. I wasn’t planning on going, but I was in town that day, and my friend M asked me to check the tour goods for something she was looking for since she wasn’t able to go herself. While I was there, I realized that they still had some day tickets for sale, and I figured it was a once in my lifetime opportunity to see the band play live. Waiting around outside for the show to start, I kind of felt like an outsider, even though I was dressed in all black, almost all fans wore strictly Moi-meme-Moitie, but I still felt like something was wrong more than just the brand of my clothing.
It wasn’t until I met up with X that I learned it was Juka’s last show. All the fans were horribly anxious and sad. Juka came out on stage with freshly bleached hair, and then they only played for a short 45 minutes before Mana shut the show down, they refused to do an encore. The tension between the band members and the sobbing pleading cries from the crowd for several minutes after the house lights came up, gave me a terrible sense of second hand melancholy. When we exited the venue, we decided to go to the staff exit and wait for Juka, but none of the members weren interested in socializing on this day. Afterwards I took some purikura, since I realized I had not taken a coordinate shot yet of my outfit.
